Christmas In June @ Auckland

With the cold weather and most of the family around (alas minus Heather and Bryan), it felt like christmas to me. Then, there was this enticing honey glazed slab of ham I could not resist when we visited the local supermarket, The Foodtown.

A very yummy hummus dip for appetizer.

One of my favorite fruits, cherries and grapes for dessert.

Ham accompanied by some pan-fried gourmet potatoes and fresh salad. Soooo good. Merry christmas :p

"God rest ye merry honey glazed ham, let no one be dismayed"

Awesome succulent slices of tender juicy piggoes, how lovely they look...I could almost taste them.

I was told by my friend visiting from NZ that over at their farm, they raise a couple of porkers, and they taste very different as they are not sent on the road to the abbatoir, but on the farm itself - the fact that when porkers are sent on the road to the abbatoir they get stressed and stressed porkers dont make good meat - so much so you can taste it.

So, my aim now is to try the non stressed piggy :D

(I'll tell you when I do) :)
