We are back but so so very exhausted after a series of hectic zipping across the Honshu Island, Japan.
This was no holiday trip and schedules had to be tightly followed. During these four days we got on four train and three plane rides.
We arrived Narita on Merdeka morning and traveled to Takayama the same day via Nagoya on the Shinkanzen. We were to accompany a very important article from Takayama to Kota Kinabalu.
The last leg of the journey ie Narita to Kota Kinabalu took us more than 24 hours! Arrived Narita from Nagoya at about 10 am yesterday and our flight to KK was scheduled to leave at 1.30pm but didn't take off until 8.30 pm!
The flight delay was due to a computer problem that was detected during taxing prior to take off. Waited endlessly onboard for hours before being told the aircraft was unservicable and we had to wait for the next aircraft to arrive.
Surprisingly, waiting in Narita airport was really enjoyable due to good company and good food from the food voucher allocated to each passenger.
As tight as the schedules were we still managed to do a little sightseeing in Takayama, a picturesque town in the mountainous Hida region west of Tokyo.
Will leave you with the above a little bite of Japan and update you later when we get everything sorted out...

Sounded like a very tiring trip. Can't wait to see your post on your trip as I am planning a trip to Japan next year.
You will love Japan. Go in autumn and stay in a ryokan (Japanese inn). Must experience the common bath at least once (so disappointed I didn't get to go this trip cos i love the hot bath). Post on Japan will take a while cos of other tasks tt demand immediate attention..
