She assembles the sliced meat as the orders come. Take a note on the little girl sitting at the far right hand corner of this pic.
A constant crowd waiting to be served.
And this bunch that crawled out of bed at the ungodly hour of 7am on a Sunday, waiting patiently for their chow.
The stall is amidst the most natural setting of huge trees and vegetation by the side of a river. The aroma of a good soup coupled with this natural ambience make you grateful to be alive.
The old dilapidated and new hanging bridges side by side.
Remember the girl in the earlier pic? She helps clear the table, put all the used utensils in a pail (with at least seven to eight ceramic bowls!) and carries them to the wash. Hardly eight years old.
One of the five or six stalls in this mini Sunday tamu (weekly market), smallest that we know.
This particular tamu, I suspect, is all about the pork soup.

A very good friend once voted in facebook that I'd be the one who'd most likely sell his soul for pork.
I have since given it considerable thought and concluded that she's definitely a gifted psychic. :D
Waking up at the wee hours of dawn, travelling for a bowl of pork noodle soup, well, that pretty much sums up what she said...
Sitting on the rickety chair, a mangy dog lying comfortably under the rectangle table where we sat; loads of people waiting paitiently for their order...I wasn't quite awake yet...
Until my first spoonful of the pork-ilicious soup - first made spicy by the chilli sauce from hell, with a dash of pork flavoured/enriched soy sauce, and a sprinkling of fried garlic. YEOW!!! PIG HEAVEN!!!
I have to say the world ceased to exist (for a little while at least) as I slowly savoured the entire bowl.
Even better when Iris couldn't tell pork tongue from meat, and kept sending more bits of pork over to my bowl...I love my wife :D, for better or for worse, for pork or tongue... :D
I could go on...
Thank you Jo, K, Daisyfused and all at home. I await your visit to KL...together we'll have a light meal, NOT!

Are u a malaysian and do u know Sabah or at least know KK well?
So sorry but this place is very out of town n unless u hv friends here in KK who can bring you around it is near impossible as there is no public transport to speak of. A few friends (n they r locals too) had to call me a few times b4 they could locate the place...
I think i'd repost this place b4 the end of the year and give a clearer (maybe with pics) direction for you, ok?
thanks for the reply and that would be a great idea... i'm from kuching and do have some friends in kk... hopefully could make it to try that special pork soup, it's really tempting :)~
